Description

"Theodore looks better than he has done for years," notes Edith from Sagamore, "He has been riding all the spring"

ALS, three pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 7, Sagamore Hill letterhead, June 25, no year. Letter to General Bradley T. Johnson, in full: "As soon as I get to Washington I will see the Tyler book at the library. My people always disclaimed the Virginia Tylers too. My ancestor Job Tyler was born in Shopshire England & came over & settled at Andover Mass in 1639. My grandfather was his direct descendent in the sixth generation & was born at Brooklyn, Wyndham Co. Conn. in 1799. Little Ted is home, very much better & more manly than when we left. He has done well in lessons & athletics & we are glad to get him back safe again. Theodore looks better than he has done for years, and has only enough work to keep him from idling & gets lots of exercise. He has been riding all the spring. He sends messages to you." In fine condition, with intersecting folds.
