John and Jacqueline married at historic St. Mary’s Church in Newport, Rhode Island, on September 12, 1953. The much-publicized wedding featured a massive guest list of over 800 that included senators and congressmen, Bay State political figures, and several Hollywood luminaries, with the nuptial mass conducted by Cardinal Cushing, the esteemed Archbishop of Boston.
