Two ALSs, signed "L. Barrymore" and "Lionel Barrymore," each one page, approximately 7.25 x 10.75, no date. Both addressed to "Karl." The first, penned on his embossed personal letterhead, in part: "For the love of Patron Saint Lt. Karl of Dresden—Please take this effusion—designed solely for the acquiring of merit…and do what alchemy you can with it, even though the rites be obscene." The second letter, in part: "Here is this famous article. I fear it doesn't amount to much, however you may be able to do something…with some magic that you are master of. Will you please hand me a wire when you receive it and tell me just how bad it is." In overall very good to fine condition, with some light creasing and toning.
