Description

Errol Flynn

DS, one page, 8 x 10.5, no date but circa April 1959. US Treasury Department–Internal Revenue Service claim in which Flynn requests a refund of $6,601.81. In part: "The taxpayer Errol Flynn received some taxable income during 1953. He had performed services for Universal Pictures in connection with the making of the photoplay known as Against Al Flags. During 1953, said funds accrued as being owed to the taxpayer by Universal. However, no payment was made by that corporation to the taxpayer because of the various claims made against that income by various alleged creditors of the taxpayer. For this reason, the taxpayer contends that he is not required to report that amount during the year 1953. However, Universal Pictures withheld the amount in question and paid it over to the Government." Signed at the conclusion in blue ballpoint by Flynn. Includes a letter from the IRS, dated April 16, 1959, indicating that the report "has been carefully reviewed…and discloses no grounds for reduction in tax liability as a result of the examination of claim," as well as a withholding statement from Universal Pictures Company to Flynn for a total of $6,601.81. In fine condition. Pre-certified Beckett Authentication Services.
