Collection of approximately 65 items collected by Hoy Quon, who was the co-chairman of the Reagan for Governor Committee in San Francisco’s Chinatown, including four items signed by Reagan (a DS, two TLSs, and a signed photo), plus a gift from Reagan, several unpublished candid photos, many campaign buttons, programs, bumper stickers, and various other types of campaign ephemera. The highlights are: a DS as governor, signed “Ronald Reagan,” one page, May 8, 1967, appointing Hoy Quon as a member of the Governor’s Committee on Traffic Safety; a TLS as governor, signed “Ronald Reagan,” one page, June 8, 1967, transmitting the certificate naming him to the committee; a TLS as governor, signed “Ron,” one page, January 8, 1970, in part, “I enjoyed hearing from you again and was certainly interested in the definition of my name in Chinese”; and a vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Reagan, signed in ballpoint, “To Susan Quon, Best wishes, Ronald Reagan, 6/2/66.” The gift is a 5.5 x 3 x .75 acrylic block bearing a facsimile signature and the text, “My heartfelt thanks to you for your tireless and dedicated efforts in the cause of our great victory.
