King William IV

King of Great Britain and Ireland (1765–1837) from 1830 to 1837, he earned the sobriquet ‘Sailor King’ for his youthful service in the Royal Navy. ALS signed “William Rex,” one page, 7.25 x 9, November 11, 1829. In full: “I am to acknowledge yours of 8th instant from the Phoenix Park, and feel more sensibly the attention of the Duke of Northern Ireland in informing me of the wishes of the Irish Government respecting Lord Viscount Doneraile. I cannot permit this opportunity to pass without requesting you will present my best regards to His Excellency and the amiable Duchess of Northern Ireland.” In fine condition, with repairs to small edge separations at folds. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
