Rocket engine thrust chamber and nozzle, measuring 18.5″ tall with a diameter of 11″ at the base of the nozzle and 2″ at the top of the combustion chamber. This is an R-4D-12 thrust chamber and nozzle, a derivative of the Apollo R-4D, used on both military and commercial orbital satellites. This example was used as part of Marquardt Corporation's engine development program, and is lightly etched on the side, "Scrap" and "Scrap Tag #1844." The piece exhibits the classic internal starring pattern formed by engine firing.
