TLS signed “Love, Paul McCartney, xxx,” one page, 8 x 10.75, no date but circa late 1962/early 1963. Letter to Jean, in full: “Thanks for your letter, nice to hear from you. I’ve enclosed your photo’s O.K.? Incidentally, if you’re interested, the fan club address is: Miss R. Brown, 90 Buchanan Rd., Wallasey, Cheshire. Thanks once again for your congratulations and things.” In very good condition, with several intersecting folds, scattered creasing, and two bits of tiny separation along folds. The Beatles Fan Club was originally founded by Roberta ‘Bobbie’ Brown in 1962. Working from her home with the help of her friends, Brown collected names and addresses from Beatles fans interested in any upcoming shows. The popularity of the Fan Club exploded on April 15, 1962, when the group organized a fan night with The Beatles as the headlining act. Ultimately, its wild growth and successive costs prompted manager Brian Epstein and the band themselves to organize and finance the club. A fantastic early letter relating to the imminent growth of the Beatles. Pre-certified REAL.
