Yankee Poets

Four items: an ALS from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, signed “H. W. L.,” one page, May 11, 1868, addressed to “My Dear Fields,” in full: “The name should be Walter Merry. Wordsworth. Ode, Intimations of Immortality. ‘The clouds that gather round the setting sun’”; an ink signature, “Oliver Wendell Holmes, Boston, May 5th 1877,” on an off-white 3.5 x 1.75; an ink signature, “Yours very truly, William Cullen Bryant,” on a light blue 5.25 x 1.5 slip affixed to a printed portrait; and an ink signature, “John G. Whittier,” on an off-white 3.25 x 1.75 card, matted with a portrait of the poet to an overall size of 9.75 x 13.25. In overall very good to fine condition, with light toning to Bryant and Holmes, and mounting stains to the corners of the Longfellow. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
