One of Japan’s most skilled fliers, Fuchida (1902–1976) commanded the air attack against Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and was the last to leave the battle area. After World War II, Fuchida converted to Christianity and became a nondenominational preacher, traveling frequently to America and later becoming a US citizen. Two items: an off-white 5.25 x 3.25 card, and a Pocket Testament league pamphlet entitled “I Bombed Pearl Harbor,” both signed in blue ink, “Capt. Mitsuo Fuchida, Luke 23:34,” adding Japanese characters to each, with both items stamp-dated August 30, 1963. In overall very fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
