Description

Scarce color 8.5 x 11 handbill for two Grateful Dead concerts at San Francisco's Avalon Ballroom on December 23-24, 1966, showing a horned Santa Claus against a surreal spiral pattern, and listing the Steve Miller Blues Band and Moby Grape as the supporting acts. Right border bears a preprinted signature of the artist, Victor Moscoso. Catalog designation FD-40-OHB-A. In fine condition. Victor Moscoso, one of San Francisco's leading psychedelic poster artists, was a master of color theory and a student of the influential Josef Albers.
