John Sullivan

American general in the Revolutionary War and a delegate in the Continental Congress (1740–1795) who served as governor of New Hampshire and commanded the Sullivan Expedition in 1779. Manuscript DS, signed “Jno. Sullivan,” one page, 6.25 x 7.5, January 14, 1773. Legal document relating to the purchase of land. Annotated and signed on the reverse by Sullivan, in part: “Province of New Hampshire, Rockingham…Samuel Willey and Hannah his wife personally appeared before me the Subscriber one of his majesty’s justices of the peace throughout the Province of New Hampsh’.” In very good to fine condition, with splitting along the lightly toned, fragile intersecting folds. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
