His poetry and dramatic works provided source material for Beethoven, Schubert, and Berlioz, among others. Manuscript DS in German, signed “J. W. v. Goethe,” one page, 7.75 x 9.25, April 15, 1820. Untranslated document concerning a payment of $500. In very good to fine condition, with several intersecting folds, creases to two corners, and a stain to the lower right; Goethe’s scarce full signature is unaffected.
