Vintage matte-finish 11 x 14 studio portrait of McDowall from very early in his career, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “For Ralph, my very best wishes, Roddy McDowall, November 1941.” In fine condition. In 1941, a 12-year-old McDowall made his film debut in John Ford’s film How Green Was My Valley. The film’s success and subsequent Best Picture Oscar catapulted the young star into the national spotlight. An ideal image signed in his breakthrough year. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
