As to Mr. Lugosi’s approach to a part—1. He wasn’t, of course, a ‘method’ actor. 2. He was well trained in his art and a good technician who could produce an appropriate illusion for almost all character. (Perhaps you know that he made his debut as Romeo?) 3. He had developed the character of Dracula so completely, that he could re-assume it at a moment’s notice. And—he grew very tired of it. He warned me when I started to play Luna, that if I was good I’d never have a chance to play anything else. Hope this answers your questions.” In fine condition.
