Bizet on Saint-Saens

French composer (1838–1875) whose operatic masterpiece, Carmen, was completed just before his untimely death from heart disease. Sought-after ALS in French, one page, 5.25 x 8.25, no date. Letter to Secretary of the Conservatoire Emile Rety, in full (translated): "The friend of Saint-Saens is absolutely wrong. Saint-Saens voted for Taudoux.” In fine condition. Bizet’s transcription for piano of Saint-Saens’s Piano Concerto # 2 is still in the current repertory. A desirable association piece boasting a crisp full signature. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
