Two letters, both signed “Byrd,” 8.5 x 11, Byrd Antarctic (Arctic) Expedition letterhead: an ALS, one page both sides, in part: “Hope you will ask Miss Smith about our experience. Straightened her out on some points you are getting after me about. I will cooperate—just say what you want; but don’t think I am doing things I am not doing”; and a TLS, one page, in full: “Thank you for your very nice letter of the 3rd. I wish I could relieve you of some of the details. If I can, let me know.” Byrd adds brief postscripts to both letters. In overall fine condition, with areas of light toning to the ALS. Each letter is accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from JSA.
