The scarce president of the Republic of Texas

American politician (1788-1870) who served as interim president of the Republic of Texas in 1836. ALS, one page, 7.5 x 5.25, December 6, 1866. Letter to Clay Dinne, Esq. In full: "In reply to your complimentary note of yesterday, I take pleasure in enclosing my poor autograph." Affixed to a same-size sheet and in very good to fine condition, with light staining and soiling. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
