When a man in the rich maturity of your distinguished attainments, takes the time and trouble to comment with such gracious intelligence upon our efforts, it is not merely a pleasant acknowledgment of a mild, emotional thrill in the theatre, but a rare compliment indeed. As such I shall always treasure it. With a pride that perhaps transcends perfect decorum, I have taken the liberty of bringing your letter to the notice of the members of the company.
