TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, August 16, 1979. In part: "Please excuse me for taking so long to answer your letter. First, I was out of the country and then when I got back I was sick for a while-one problem was drugs, overdose after a motorcycle accident-but finally, your letter was one which required a thoughtful answer and for a long while I've not been capable of writing well...Maybe when I come back through N.Y., some time in October, I can give you a buzz and we can sit down some where and talk."
