Artist, poet, and humorist (1866-1951) who was an early supporter of modern art in America. Original pen and ink line drawing of a man reading a book next to a woman on an off-white 7 x 9 vellum sheet, captioned, "In the endeavor to misunderstand women men pass their most delightful moments," signed below, "Gelett Burgess, 1937." In fine condition.
