Silverberg edits a manuscript for a science fiction volume

American author and editor (born 1935) who is best known for writing science fiction. He is a multiple winner of both Hugo and Nebula Awards, a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame, and a Grand Master of SF. Two items: a TLS signed “Bob Silverberg,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Agberg, Ltd. letterhead, December 8, 1986. Letter to Barry Levin, in full: “Herewith the original manuscript of James Tiptree’s ‘The Psychologist Who Wouldn’t Do Awful Things to Rats,’ as published in New Dimensions VI (Harper & Row, 1976), along with the one-page original manuscript of my editorial introduction to the story. The manuscript shows several layers of editing…The occasional ones in purple ink, such as on line 6 of the fourth page of the manuscript, were done by me.” Includes the aforementioned heavily annotated manuscript, with Silverberg making numerous small corrections, and signing his name in full on the opening page. In overall fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
