Joe Foss

US Marine fighter ace in World War II and Medal of Honor recipient (1915–2003) who also served as an Air National Guard brigadier general, the 20th governor of South Dakota, the president of the National Rifle Association, and the first commissioner of the American Football League. Rare DS, signed “Joe J. Foss,” one page, 8.5 x 11, October 5, 1971. International Order of Characters membership application entirely filled out in black ballpoint by Foss, who signs his name three times within the application. Foss lists his business affiliation, “Pres. Joe Foss Inc.,” present or past military status, “B/G Chief of Staff S. Dak Air Nat. Guard,” and the names of three I.O.C. members, “Sen Barry Goldwater—Ariz, Gov. Whitcomb—Indiana, Wally Schirra—Denevr, Colo.” In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
