German engineer (1838–1917) who designed the famous rigid airship that bears his name. Twice-signed untranslated ALS in German, signed “G. v. Zeppelin,” one page on a 5.5 x 3.5 postcard, January 6, 1915. Written from Stuttgart, this war-dated letter is addressed on the opposite side in Zeppelin’s own hand, vertically signing his name along the left border, “Graf Zeppelin.” In fine condition, with light overall soiling.
