The composer loses custody of his son

DS, 24 pages, 9 x 14, August 28, 1939. Property settlement agreement between Alfred and Beth Newman, "husband and wife, but are now living separate and apart," in which "Mrs. Newman shall have custody of Tony and, during his minority, shall maintain support and educate Tony in a suitable and proper manner...Newman shall have the right to visit Tony at reasonable times and for reasonable intervals and Tony's education shall be under the joint control of Newman and Mrs. Newman." Signed on page 22 in fountain pen by Newman and his wife, both of whom sign their initials throughout the document. In fine condition.
