Impressive collection of 30 postcards related to the Titanic from both before and after the disaster, including real photo postcards showing: a lifeboat from the Titanic unloading rescued passengers to the Carpathia; a Boy Scout troop collecting money for the Titanic Relief Fund; a family in front of a Carpathia backdrop; the Titanic in the open ocean; two of the liner with the caption, “White Star Triple-Screw Steamer Titanic”; and one showing the ship, simply captioned “Titanic.” Others include: a ‘gold frame series’ postcard featuring an etching of the Titanic sinking; two memorial postcards captioned “Hands Across the Sea”; four showing the Titanic with captions related to the disaster; five of the Harland & Wolff shipyard where the Titanic was constructed; three memorial and remembrance postcards of various types; one memorial postcard showing the Titanic and Captain Smith; one featuring the lyrics of ‘Nearer My God to Thee’; an advertising postcard of the White Star Line’s Olympic and Titanic steamers; the iceberg and the SS Mackay-Bennett; a silk-woven postcard of the Olympic; and two different American Bankers Association postcards. In overall very good to fine condition. A wonderful, rarely seen compilation of such a great variety of Titanic postcards.
