Confirmation order to Lieutenant John Monroe requesting his acceptance or non-acceptance regarding his presidential appointment as “Assistant Commissary of Subsistence in the service of the United States.” Signed at the conclusion by Calhoun as secretary of war. In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
