Pulitzer Prize–winning American writer (1890–1980) best known for such enduring stories as ‘The Jilting of Granny Weatherall’ and the novel Ship of Fools. ALS, one page, 5.75 x 7.75, February 16, 1972. Letter to an English professor at Olivet College in Michigan. In part: “That is a charming Valentine you sent me, and I remember the past as happy and full of good omens that came true when I receive a letter from one who remembers me from the far past, or the nearer past, as in your case…Yes, I shall be there, on the 4th…and shall be happy to see you, grown up, who wrote me a letter when you were a child!” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope addressed in her own hand, including her initials, “KAP,” in the return address. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
