Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren

Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “Andrew Jackson” as president and “M. Van Buren” as secretary of state, one page, 10.25 x 14.25, April 13, 1830. A patent issued to Elijah Skinner, who “hath alleged that he has invented a new and useful improvement in the mode of locking drawers of furniture called the saving lock.” Signed at the conclusion by President Jackson, Secretary of State Van Buren, and Attorney General John M. Berrien. The original green ribbon and white paper seal affixed to the lower left remain intact. Matted and framed. In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
