Scarce ADS, signed twice within the text and once at the conclusion, “Rich’d Stockton,” one page both sides, 8.25 x 13, August 23, 1764. Lengthy handwritten legal document, in part: “The s’d Ezekiel by Richard Stockton his attorney says that Whereas the s’d Stephen…acknowledged himself to owe & be justly indebted unto the s’d Ezekiel in the just & full Sum of six Pounds six Shillings & seven Pence like Money…the s’d Ezekiel in Fact says that the s’d Stephen did not pay…Ezekiel Forman puts in his Place Richard Stockton his attorney against Stephen Warne…in a Plea of Debt.” In very good to fine condition, with small splits along folds, and light staining and toning.
