The emperor asks Clarke what an aide-de-camp of the Prince of Pontecorvo [Marshal Bernadotte] is doing in Quimper, Brittany. A note by one of Clarke’s secretaries is pinned to the lower left, indicating that the letter will be replied to right away. Attractively matted and framed beside an engraved portrait.
