William Pitt the Younger

British politician (1759–1806) who served as Prime Minister from 1783 to 1801 and 1804 to 1806. Manuscript DS signed “W. Pitt,” one page, 9 x 8, November 28, 1786. Pay order issued to the “Commissioners of Our Treasury,” directing them to “issue and pay or cause to be issued and paid out of any Our Treasury or Revenue in the Receipt of the Exchequer applicable to uses of Our Civil Government unto James Paul of Salisbury, Lord Chamberlain of Our Household…the Sum of Three hundred & fifty Nine Pounds.” In fine condition, with reinforcement and a small tear to right edge, and a clipped lower right corner. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
