ALS in English, signed “M. K. Gandhi,” one page, 3.5 x 5.5, July 1, 1939. Short letter to a friend, in full: “I won’t argue. Let our faiths sustain us.” In fine condition. Gandhi’s message of nonviolence went hand in hand with the idea of respecting people of all denominations, and he once said, ‘True knowledge of religion breaks down the barriers between faith and faith and gives rise to tolerance. Cultivation of tolerance for other faiths will impart to us a truer understanding of our own.’ A wonderful letter which embodies this peaceful philosophy. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
