Three items: a TLS signed “C. W. Nimitz,” 6.75 x 9.75, Commander South Pacific Force letterhead, October 1, 1943, in full: “Thank you for the copy of ‘Personalities of 1943,’ which I received this morning. I appreciate very much your courtesy in sending me this little book”; a TLS signed “W. F. Halsey,” 5.75 x 7.75, Commander South Pacific Force letterhead, November 3, 1943, in full: “It was very kind of you to send me a copy of your publication ‘Personalities of 1943.’ It is rather refreshing to find myself included with so many individuals who are otherwise engaged in the more normal activities of our national picture”; and a fountain pen signature, “R. A. Spruance,” on an off-white 5 x 3.75 slip clipped from a letter. The two letters are framed, and the signature is affixed to a slightly larger sheet. In overall very good to fine condition, with bleeding to Halsey’s signature and some light stains to the Nimitz letter. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
