Set designer and electrical special effects creator (1896–1984) whose work appeared in more than 100 films and television shows including Frankenstein, The Wizard of Oz, and The Munsters. Three original unsigned pencil sketches by Strickfaden on individual off-white lightly-lined sheets, ranging in size from 7.5 x 4.5 to 7.5 x 9.5. The first depicts a whirring “Tranquilizer”; the second, a “Digital Disputer”; and the third shows a charged “Lightning Screen.” These pieces of machinery appeared in Mel Brooks’s Young Frankenstein, as well as other horror films.
