Penned at the close of letter written to him by Alexander Kadison concerning a misquote in the New York Herald Tribune in which Truman purportedly stated, ‘Like John Quincy Adams and Benjamin Franklin, he wanted to keep the Presidency in the family.’ Truman’s note, in full: “Tribune’s mistake, not mine, nor Life’s nor N. Y. Times!” The original clipping affixed to lower left corner. In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Truman’s own hand. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
