Description

Treasure map to Elvis’s fleet: Cadillacs, Harley-Davidsons, and a Rolls-Royce

Archive of letters and documents related to Elvis’s finances, none signed by him, most dated between 1964 and 1969. These primarily pertain to Elvis’s vehicles, including a Rolls-Royce and a Duesenberg, his lease of the house in Bel Air where he lived from 1965 to 1967, and a painting of Presley by Ralph Wolfe Cowan; includes one letter signed by Cowan and six letters signed by Elvis’s father, Vernon Presley. A highlight of these documents is an insurance policy listing the models and VIN numbers of many of his vehicles, which includes Lincoln Continentals, a Rolls-Royce, several Cadillacs and Harley-Davidsons, a Ford Bronco, and others. In overall very good to fine condition. Elvis was known for his taste in cars and gave away dozens of Cadillacs to band members, bodyguards, assistants, and even strangers. This group offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into Elvis’s garage, and the list of vehicles documents his specific ownership; perhaps one of these is still out there, waiting to be rediscovered.
