Elie Metchnikoff

Russian biologist and zoologist (1845–1916) best known for his pioneering research into the immune system for which he was awarded the 1908 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Scarce AQS in French on an off-white 5.5 x 3.5 card bearing an affixed image of Metchnikoff in his lab, signed, “Elie Metchnikoff, Sevres, 11 Septembre 1909.” Metchnikoff pens a quote on human nature, in full (translated): "In order to modify human nature, it is necessary to realize what is the ideal to which we have to go.” In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
