American cartoonist best known for his work on Thimble Theatre with Popeye (1910–1985). Original vintage signed ink sketch of Popeye on an off-white 6 x 9.5 album page, inscribed within his speech bubble, “Ahoy, Pvt. Francis Greeley,” and signed below, “Best wishes from ‘ol’-blow-me-down’ Popeye and Bela Zaboly—Apr. 3, 1943.” Also signed below the sketch with his distinctive bumblebee monogram. In fine condition.
