Pioneer of American newspaper comic strips (1857–1937) best known for his comic strip Happy Hooligan. Two vintage signed sketches on individual off-white 6 x 9.5 album pages: one ink sketch featuring a detailed man tipping his boot upside down, signed in the lower right, “F. Opper”; and one rough graphite sketch of Happy Hooligan, signed at the bottom in fountain pen, “Frederick Burr Opper, Dec. 17, 1930.” In overall fine condition.
