Czech-born composer (1879–1972) of such ‘light’ classics as the operettas ‘The Firefly,’ ‘Rose Marie,’ and ‘The Vagabond King.’ Two items: a semi-glossy 10 x 8 photo of Friml posing with four others, signed in blue felt tip by Friml and his wife, Kay Ling Friml, in black felt tip by his songwriting partner Dalley Paskman, and in white ink by Senator Roman Hruska; and a revised Uniform Popular Songwriters contract, four pages on two sheets, 8.5 x 16.25, dated September 22, 1953. Contract between Victor Young Publication and Dailey Paskman and Rudolf Friml, in which the latter sell the rights to the song “Never Say Good Bye” with a stated 50% share for both writers. Signed at the conclusion in blue ballpoint by Friml. In overall fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
