ALS signed “W. J. Bryan,” one page both sides, 8.25 x 5.5, personal letterhead, November 9, 1900. Letter to Mr. Nathan Cole, Jr., written just three days after being defeated in the 1900 presidential election by William McKinley. In part: “Many thanks for your kind telegram. We were badly beaten but the fight must go on. I appreciate the loyalty of the friends who went down with me. Mrs. Bryan joins in regards to the family.” In fine condition, with a small block of toning. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
