Russian composer (1875–1956) who concentrated primarily on monumental operas, ballets, and cantatas. ALS in Cyrillic, signed “R. Gliere,” one page, 6.5 x 8.75, personal letterhead, April 20, 1945. Letter to Julian Brodetsky, in part (translated): "I cordially thank you and the ensemble you conducted for your warm words of introduction. I wish you much success in the work you (and I, too) love in the realm of chamber music.” In very good to fine condition, with creasing, tape to three corners, and a chip to one lower corner.
