Letter to Samuel Jarvis, in part: “I received today your obliging letter of the 3’d instant…as you have forwarded a Copy to the President, I will, if opportunity occur, suggest you write to him; and can be no reason to doubt his readiness to give the requisite Instructions to obtain as far as practicable the desired Information.” Reverse of second integral page bears a hand-addressed and free franked address panel, franked in the upper right, “Free, Rufus King.” In fine condition, with scattered light staining .
