Set of four TLSs, four pages in total, 8 x 10.5, United States Department of Justice letterhead, dated between 1943 and 1956. All addressed to L. Earle LeMont. The earliest, dated January 4. 1943 in part: “Your letter of December 30, 1942, has been received and I wanted you to know that I appreciate very much your expressions of commendation concerning our work in connection with the apprehension of the Touhy Gang.” Each letter is individually affixed to a slightly large scrapbook page. The reverse of two scrapbook pages bear affixed letters, one signed by Maine Governor Louis Brann, and the other bearing a printed signature from Winston Churchill. In overall fine condition.
