Henri Vieuxtemps

Belgian composer and violinist (1820–1881) considered an essential part of the Franco-Belgian violin school during the mid-19th century. Two ALSs in French, each signed “H. Vieuxtemps,” one page, March 12 and 27, 1841. The first, in part (translated): "My usual terms are 200 francs, my accompanist still gets the sum of 50 francs.” The second, in part (translated): "I will go to the concert on Rochechouart Street tomorrow at 2 o'clock with my accompanist. Since I won't be coming from my house, please don't trouble to send a carriage for me.” In very good to fine condition. Accompanied by an unsigned albumen photo. The Salle Pleyel, 22 rue Rochechouart, was a famed concert hall where Chopin, Liszt, Paganini and many others appeared. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
