Description

Wilson gladly shares “the opportunities of this great country” with the children of foreign-born parents

TLS as president, one page, 7 x 8.75, White House letterhead, April 22, 1915. Letter to Everett M. Raynor, in full: “I am very much interested in the work the Daughters of the Revolution are planning to do along practical lines of patriotism in interesting the children of foreign-born parents in the public schools. When you have the opportunity, will you not be kind enough to convey to these clubs of youngsters my very warmest good wishes and tell them that as an American I am heartily glad to share with them the opportunities of this great country and believe that if they will take to heart the lessons of our history, they will be able to help the country to even greater things than it has done yet?” In very good to fine condition.
