Thaddeus Stevens

Representative from Pennsylvania (1792–1868) who opposed fugitive slave laws and urged emancipation. ALS, one page, lightly-lined, 7.5 x 9.5, July 22, 1867. Letter to D. P. Brown, in part: “I wish you would address in your best handwriting to Mr. Speaker our application.” In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
