ALS, two pages on two adjoining sheets, 5 x 8, December 25, 1901. Letter to a “little girl from India,” in part: “I certainly have not forgotten you & I am glad you have not forgotten me. And you have remembered me in such a sweet way…I want to thank you for that! As well as for the charming one that came with the card.” Also includes a handwritten payment receipt, signed at the conclusion by Burroughs and dated July 9, 1896, “Recd of Helen McIngersall the sum of Seventy five 16/100 dollars in full for disbursements to date.” In overall very good condition, with strips of toned tape to second integral page of letter.
