Four items: a 5.25 x 3.25 postcard photo of Pietro Mascagni in a bust-length pose, signed in Italian in ink (translated), “With the affectionate greetings of your friend, P. Mascagni,” dated September 11, 1901, with writing in another hand below; a glossy 7.5 x 8.75 photo of Bernstein, signed and inscribed in black felt tip, “For Beth Rubin, Best wishes from Leonard Bernstein, 1980”; an AMQS on an off-white 10.5 x 6.5 sheet, signed and dated below in ink by Jules Massenet, “J. Massenet, Paris, 23 Juillet/[18]80,” with Massenet penning four bars of the vocal and piano parts from his oratorio La Vierge, along with the lyrics for the piece; and an ink signature, “Greetings, faithfully yours, Ethelbert Nevin, Edgewater—Aug. 10th 1898,” on the reverse of an admirer’s letter on an off-white 4.75 x 7.75 sheet. Writing on the Massenet AMQS light but legible, otherwise overall fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope for the Nevin signature. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
